I tried the Gyro plate and the Chicken Shawarma plate—both solid choices. The Gyro was about an 8/10 for me; could’ve been better if it came from a juicier inside cut. The Chicken Shawarma had good flavor, but it was a bit on the dry side. Still enjoyable overall, I’d give it a 6/10. What really stood out, though, was the salad that comes with the plate—fresh, crisp, and bursting with flavor. Easily a 10/10. The place itself is a no-frills, hole-in-the-wall spot, clearly focused more on food than ambiance. If you’re after atmosphere, this might not be your vibe. But if you want a good, flavorful meal without the fuss, Zuwar delivers. Overall, I’d give it a 7.5/10. ”

“ This was a recently discovered hidden gem for me on Highway 1! Why y'all didn't tell me about this place sooner?!?! First of all, if you have diet goals, this is a great choice: Mediterranean Diets rank in the top 3 best diets for health and wellness. So, it's not a bad idea to incorporate a few of these meals in your routine. What's even better, the prices are comparable to what you would spend for unhealthier options at fast food restaurants. I've tried a few options so far, my favorite (which probably isn't the healthiest option on their menu, but is SO delicious) is the pasta with shrimp...y'all, it is SOOOO good! Also, I love the salad and the vegetarian grape leaves. My family and I tried a few items from the menu, I'm attaching some pictures with this review. Do not hesitate to stop and try this food! Also, the customer service is just amazing. To wrap it up: good food+ good service=winning combination! Try it, tell them, Itstechnicole sent you! ”

“ Delicious and fresh food! I ordered the Gyro plate and it was wonderful! The added Baklava was a great bonus, thank you very much. One of the most delicious Baklava I have had. Ate the food before I could take any photos, yet the Baklava photo says a lot! ”

“ I found Zuwar on Google maps and drove from I-10 To get to it. I tried it for two reasons, the high customer rating and because the food sounded better than the usual local fare. I will be honest, I drove by, looked at it and kept going. I wanted to sit down and eat and parking looked difficult, and frankly the neighborhood doesn't look great. I went back. Man am I glad I changed my mind. I had Swarma and grape leaves. The food wasn't just good it was excellent. They were very kind and the price was reasonable. I love this place. ”

“ Do not pass this smaller place up! Can be ordered as take out, and they have a drive-through, or plenty of space to sit inside. Welcoming and very helpful. The food was fresh and perfectly, not overly, seasoned. There is a kids menu that has great portions with salad, fries, etc. for sides, or tenders for picky eaters. The fried cheese and chicken plate with rice were excellent. Their salad dressing was great. The milkshake had lots of real strawberries and was not overly sweetened, so it was very delicious. They have a variety of desserts and milkshakes. They take your order at the counter, or table, and serve all items in takeout packaging. So, not only do you get a great meal, surprisingly quick, you can easily pack up and head out without waiting for anyone to bring a box. We have passed this area many times, and missed this little gem. Make sure to give it a try if you enjoy this type of cuisine. ”
